Large Fang masks like these were famous for being used in secret ceremonies in Ghana amongst the Fang people. Members of the society wore the masks during the initiation of new members and the persecution of wrongdoers. These masks are particularly detailed with intricate engravings carefully carved into the faces. Each mask is approx. 24" tall. Made in Ghana.
